    I haven't had any luck installing locally with MAMP for OSX. I get to the Oops ! Something Went Wrong.
    Something went wrong and we have noted that. Thank you for understanding. Go back to Dashboard ? I click on dashboard, but I hit the same page :( Does anybody know how to install with MAMP?

    You need to add unix socket for mamp in mac.
    In your app/config/database.php add the following

    'mysql' => array(
    			'driver'    => 'mysql',
    			'host'      => 'localhost',
    			'unix_socket'   => '/Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock',
    			'database'  => 'your-database-name',
    			'username'  => 'username',
    			'password'  => 'password',
    			'charset'   => 'utf8',
    			'collation' => 'utf8_unicode_ci',
    			'prefix'    => '',

    Let me know if you need any further help in installing.
