installed, images missing, html showing.

    Hi

    I setup a server,
    installed ubuntu 14.
    I installed lamp.

Then I downloaded the package and unzipped it to a folder.

I think I figured out how to test all the needed components.
    I did a
    find /92five -exec chmod +777 \{} \;

to make ALL the files and folders writeable.

I then moved the /92five to /var/www/html - so I could navigate to it.

    I made a test phpm.php to do a phpinfo
    http://199.188.244.62/phpm.php

but whenever I try to run any of the install php's
I get the page with no images and a bunch of htlml messages - see below.

I enabled mod-rewrite by doing this:
    a2enmod rewrite
then I am supposed to edit /etc/apache2/sites-available/default
    and add this...
    <Directory /var/www/>
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
    AllowOverride All
    Order allow,deny
    allow from all
    </Directory>

    Restarted apache
    service apache2 restart

    still doesnt work.

    what am I doing wrong?

This is what I get here
    http://199.188.244.62/92five/app/views/install/adminaccount.blade.php

  2. well I figured out something....
I entered this - even though I know that there is no such file or path
    http://199.188.244.62/92five/login

and I got a test and lets get started page....
This was quite a surprise because the path doesnt exist - thats why I never tried it - instead I was
    navigating to
    http://199.188.244.62/92five/app/views/install/
so - something tricky happens and a non-existant path - leads somewhere...

  3. well I got it to go through the install and it came to a database screen
    it wants to know
    host: ?
    database: ?
    user: ?
    password:?

So is this supposed to create a new database? or is it asking for the credentials for mysql ?
I put in the current mysql admin login info....
    host: localhost
    database:mysql
    user: <<roots username>>
    password: << roots password>>

is this right? doesnt seem right...

  4. ok now I have another problem

if i add user it adds the user but gets an error.
I think that it is trying to email the user but I dont have mail setup....

So is mail setup a requirement?

@wayne Wow. You got the error and solved your self ? Cheers for that mate. To your latest problem: To create the use with email you have to fill out smtp details in admin/email settings. Only after that you can add user by just entering the email.

However there is also another way to add user with out email. Click on add user and there is a link saying "Add user with details". Click on that link, fill out details and click add, and user will be added.

Let me know if you need any help regarding errors.
    Cheers,
    Chintan

  6. whats the proper mysql database entries that should be entered?

@wayne You need to create a database before installing the application.
    Please follow these steps.

    1. log in into your mysql and create a new database
    2. In the installation page provide the details of database as per following:

    host: your mysql server host
database: name of the database you have created
username: username to connect to the database (you can provide the same username through which you logged in to create a database)
password: password to connect to the database
